International Breast Cancer Day: Málaga Goes Pink (and So Can You)

Every 19 October, the world turns pink. It’s International Breast Cancer Day, a date that unites millions of people around one clear message: prevention and early detection save lives.

In Málaga, the day is felt strongly. The city fills with activities, pink ribbons and acts of solidarity that honour those who fight, support and look after themselves.

And at Málaga Plaza Shopping Centre, we want to join in. Because support also means informing, raising awareness and doing our part. Today we’ll tell you how.

What this day means and why it matters in Málaga

Breast cancer is the most common tumour among women, though it can affect men too. The good news: when caught in time, the outlook improves enormously.

That’s why awareness is so valuable. Talking about it, encouraging regular check-ups and supporting research makes all the difference.

Málaga’s network of solidarity

Málaga has an admirable network of associations. ASAMMA, the Association of Women Who Have Undergone Breast Cancer Surgery in Málaga, supports patients and families every day.

Alongside it, the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer), CUDECA and the Unidas Contra el Cáncer group run manifestos, workshops and events across the city. Reaching out to any of them is a wonderful way to help.

CSR lived from the heart of the centre

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) isn’t a slogan: it’s a real commitment to the community around us. A shopping centre is also a meeting point for its neighbourhood.

That’s why spaces like Málaga Plaza become ideal places to spread campaigns, wear the pink ribbon and encourage visitors to learn more and take part.

A small gesture, a big impact

Share accurate information. Be there for those who need it. Book your check-ups. Every action counts, and they all add up.

Come to the centre and get involved, hassle-free

Taking part in activities in central Málaga is easier than you think. No stress over the car: the car park at Málaga Plaza is open 24 hours, with easy access and the peace of mind of leaving your car in safe hands.

You can even book your space before leaving home and focus on what matters: being there.

Together, in pink

This 19 October is an invitation to look out for one another, to care for ourselves and for others. Health is the best plan, and solidarity the best companion.

Join the city’s initiatives, stay informed and support Málaga’s associations. Book your space at Málaga Plaza, come to the centre and make this day a memorable one. Because together, in pink, we are stronger.
